Awej is a UK based lyricist with a passion for using multi syllable rhymes as a vocal instrument. He combines this technique with vivid religious, scientific and philosophical imagery as well as comic book and science fiction references to tell his story in abstract ways. His first project ‘Volume 1’ tells a story that dives into Awej’s journey into music. This is most prevalent on Track 7 ‘Equations (Acapella)’. This mixtape is a short dive into the different stages he took, from inspiration in the first track, to being “Crown Deserved” in the final record. 'Astonomically Birthed' is a showcase of his passion for the link between space and spirituality. From the first track 'Origins' and its building atmospheric tension throughout, to hardcore, raw Boom Bap tracks like 'Space of Mind' and 'Astronomically Birthed' where he showcases his ability to make two halfs of the same song capture completely different moods and contain vastly different subject matters.
